Helsinki tips September 2014

Take a little cruise to experience Helsinki from the sea.

1.Helsinki Design Week will take place 4-14.9. all over the city centre in about 150 events.

2.The short cruises from the Market Place (Kauppatori) continue in September. The boats that have different routes leave from the city center side of the Market Place. These cruises are really nice, you'll see how beautiful Helsinki is from the sea. I especially like the eastern route. It's much colder on the sea so make sure you are warmly dressed.

3.Habitare Furniture/ Interior decoration/ Design fair 10-14 September in the Expo and Convention centre (Messukeskus) in Pasila. Take a local train (they all stop in Pasila) or tram 7A, 7B or 9 to get there.

4.Hilma af Glint in Taidehalli Museum until 28 September. Ms af Glint was an interesting Swedish pioneer abstract painter (1862-1944).

5. Helsinki, a city of ice and snow exhibition in Kaupunginmuseo (the City museum, Sofiankatu 4). You'll see how the snow and ice affect and have affected our lives in Helsinki. There's even an ice fishing simulator you can try!

6. Love & Anarchy (Rakkautta & Anarkiaa) international film festival is held on 18-28.9.

The pretty rowanberries brighten our days when autumn arrives.

    1. Harmi, jos et ole, mutta jos asut Lontoossa (niin kuin käsitin), niin onhan sielläkin mahtava leffatarjonta!
